Teresa was my first-ever friend in NYC. We met in the registration line our first day of college & while I'm pretty sure I instantly bombarded her with my woes, she didn't run away screaming, most likely made me laugh until my stomach hurt and POOF! - besties.
7 years, 3 cities and 1 Galen later, I couldn't have been more honored to reunite with one of my greatest friends to shoot her engagement photos in the city that started it all :)
We still have a session left, so keep checking back for more! In the meantime...Congrats Teresa and Galen!
When I met with Kate & Andrew to discuss their wedding, the thing that struck me most was how important it was to them that they keep their special day as low-key and love-filled as possible. This is exactly how their whole day went & It was truly inspiring to witness a couple so excited to marry each other that they didn't sweat the small stuff, even for a second!
After getting ready , Kate walked to her wedding (like a total boss!) with her best gals, on quite possibly the most beautiful day in Brooklyn, ever. Andrew's dad officiated the ceremony while their families and closest friends surrounded them.
Their day was filled with delicious food (their wedding was at Frankie's 457 AND they had an entire spread of Momofuku cakes!) lots of hugs and plenty of sunshine.
It was an absolute honor to share in such an intimate and special day! Congrats Mr. & Mrs. May!
When Falcon Griffith & I were asked to shoot Gayle & Thomas' wedding, I think it's pretty safe to say we were both beyond excited! Aside from the fact that this is one good lookin' couple, we knew that Gayle's amazing taste would shine through in every aspect of this wedding (remember her wedding shower?!) and we were not disappointed.
Absolutely every detail was classic and romantic. I loved all of the glamourous touches that accented the very earthy and naturally beautiful forest feel of the day. I was gushing over everything - Gayle's AMAZING gold crown, her Valentino "glass slippers", the awesome flask-filled books Thomas gifted his groomsmen, the chandeliers, the perfectly blond flower girls...it was all way too much beauty for one day!
I know this looks like an engagement shoot, but this impeccably styled couple tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in SoHo just hours after we bopped around the city taking these photos! (Can we discuss how adorable Erin's Salvatore Ferragamo's are?!)
Opting for a suit instead of a traditional white dress ("I feel great in a suit!"), Erin and Noah had passerby's ooohing and awwwing at every location we visited. I don't think I've ever said "cute!!!" so many times during one shoot!
Anyway, the creepy mask reveal was all part of Erin's big plan to surprise Noah on their wedding day, as he fell in love with it on a trip and begged her to let him bring it home. Erin veto'd it instantly ("Where are we going to put that THING!?") and then secretly bought/shipped it back to New York.
After an evening filled with touching speeches, silent movies and the most delectable mini-bites, Erin & Noah moved the party to the SoHo Grand to dance the night away with their closest friends and family.
It was truly a magical (and ADORABLE) night - and it was clear that their friends and family couldn't have been more thrilled that these two found each other. So happy to have been a part of such a special day!
Congrats Erin & Noah!
When the fabulous Meg Miller invited me along to second shoot this Bear Mountain wedding, I knew I was in for a beautiful Fall day, but I seriously couldn't have imagined a more perfect setting.
Aside from being classicly east coast beautiful (California cannot compete with fall foliage!) the weather was perfect, the details were perfectly executed and the Bride & Groom couldn't have been more excited to tie the knot!
Chris and Heather's friends and family truly made this a fun celebration of this couple's love! Complete with a "how to keep the bride happy" instructional (pizza and new boots) and a Madonna serenade (performed in a nun costume, no less), Heather and Chris's friends displayed some SERIOUS love for the couple - it was great to capture so much Penn State love!! Photos just don't do their party spirit enough justice. Congrats Chris and Heather!
Owen has to be THE cutest little man I know, so I was beyond excited to be invited to document his very first birthday last month! Look at that little face!!
I'd never been to Lark in Brooklyn, but it was an adorable and perfect location for a birthday party. His mama Tina did a fantastic job decorating (goldfish themed - how cute is that?) and the kids had a blast playing music and stuffing themselves with birthday cake. I was personally a huuuuge fan of the ice cream bar :) Can't wait till next year!
Sarah and Matt are one of those couples whose connection is so natural that it seems absolutely impossible to deny that there really is a person out there that is just made for you! I couldn't imagine a better match, and the ease with which they have built a beautiful life with one another was evident in all of the details of their wedding!
We started the day at a beautiful craftsman house in Rhinebeck, where it took an army of Sarah's closest ladies to get her amazing dress securely buttoned. Once the details were set, we headed to their breathtaking venue where Sarah and Matt had a first look at their gorgeously transformed barn and at each other! After lots of giggles while hiding from guests and a little bit of first-dance-practice, it was time to make it official!
Everyone's spirits were high, and despite the rain interruption, their wedding could not have been more effortlessly stunning. It was an absolute joy to share in the excitement of their family and friends every step of the way, and it was an even bigger treat to get to know their nearest and dearest.
The night was filled with an amazingly hilarious and touching string of speeches (Sarah's sister could seriously give Amy Poehler a run for her money, the room was dying of laughter!), delicious food and some seriously sweet dance moves!
I could not be happier for these two and wish them the absolute best! Congratulations Sarah and Matt!!
Special thanks to Falcon Griffith for second shooting! :)
It's not out of the ordinary for Ryan and Mayra to spend their Saturday lounging in the sunshine with their pup, Max. As huge fans of NYC parks, they often pick a new destination to visit each weekend to soak in the sights and enjoy the outdoors. On a recent park tour, they'd visited the Garden People on the Upper West Side, and Ryan knew when he saw it that it was the perfect place to pop the question.
Here's where I come in!
A week prior to the big day, master planner Ryan outlined a route for me to follow through Riverside Park (complete with pictures!) that led to the spot where he would lead Mayra and propose. Having met Mayra previously, it was super important to me not to be seen, so I spent my afternoon hiding behind bushes, befriending strangers for their view of the couple, and generally being a huge creep (huge glasses + baseball cap + a playground...) in order to capture all of the seemingly "normal" moments that would lead up to the big one!
After a quiet picnic in the park and a long, beautiful walk, Ryan led Mayra into one of the gated off garden spaces (having previously obtained permission, of course!) that he loved the most. After pausing for a few moments, he gifted Mayra a stunning silver engraved case with their names, date, and lyrics that are meaningful to their relationship.
Mayra was so completely taken aback and touched by the gift that she barely noticed when Ryan pulled out yet another stunning shiny object and got down on one knee!
It was such an amazingly sweet day, and I am so, so happy that I was able to capture this moment for them!
Congratulations Ryan and Mayra!!
Aside from being our great friends, Raquel + Justin are also one of my favorite couples on the planet. I've always admired how the different people and parts of their lives have molded together so, so naturally to create one big, beautiful life.
It was absolutely adorable to watch these two make each other laugh and enjoy each other's company as "naturally" as they could with me pointing my giant camera in their face!
I know that everyone who knows these two will agree that their great love is worth documenting, so I feel very fortunate to have been the one asked to do so! Cant wait to watch them make it official this October!
Love you, Krauses!
There are few things that ever make midtown sound appealing to me, but second shooting with Kate Edwards at the NoMad is definitely one of those things! Aside from being an absolutely mind blowingly gorgeous hotel, Emily was also an absolutely mind blowingly gorgeous bride + it was a blast to spend the day with their lovely friends and family!
As I'm sure we all know, weddings can be somewhat hectic and stressful the day-of, but this was by far one of the most seemingly effortless and elegant weddings I have ever had the privilege of shooting!
Emily and Fernando were so natural with one another that everything seemed to flow just right without ever losing that "calm happiness" feeling. It was so refreshing to watch them bring their worlds together and savor the experience of becoming husband and wife.
Congratulations Emily & Fernando!
When Jennifer asked me to photograph her wedding shower on the Upper East Side, I knew it was going to be a gorgeous event. Jennifer's style is evident in all that she does and her maid of honor Kerry did a spectacular job of capturing her sophisticated and fun vibe!
The champagne was flowing, the tiny bites were deliiiicious (and never ending!) and Jennifer was the ultimate beaming-bride-to-be! Her happiness was so contagious and it was so much fun to spend time with her ladies and celebrate with her!
The night only got more adorable when her fiance Ben crashed the party to pick up his lady, Tiffany's box in hand (solid guy!). I'm so glad to have been a part of such a sweet celebration! Congrats Jennifer & Ben!!
